It’s not very pleasant to admit, but even after becoming a grownup woman, my food choices were like that of a young girl. Fast food, especially pizza, was my first love. I used to order a large pizza with a double layer of cheese and a lot of spices. And here comes the most embarrassing part. I never used to share it with anybody. By the time I was in my 30s, I had gained a lot of weight, but of course, I was not ready to give up on my love for a hot creamy pizza regularly.
For this reason, I started to look for other ways to shed some pounds and tried to go to the gym. But it didn’t take too long for me to get bored with it. The next trick that I liked was walking an hour regularly at any time of the day. This only helped me slow down the weight gain process but didn’t stop it.
When I was in the mid-40s, I had become a chubby woman, a butterball I’d say as my love for unhealthy snacks was also growing despite the fear of the outcomes. It was only when I saw one of my obese friends collapsing in front of me due to cardiac arrest that I realized I need to change my lifestyle. I was afraid of the health problems due to my obesity after seeing my friend struggling with heart diseases. While there were other reasons as well, obesity was one of the main causes of her poor health condition.
I couldn’t afford any medical problem, as I had two kids to look after. These things struck me like a thunderclap, so I finally decided to resist my cravings. However, I was entering my 50s and had already become chubby by then and put on too much weight that needed to be cut down. It was challenging for me even to lose some pounds.
A new journey of my life began – and it was a difficult one. I tried different weight loss challenges and various diet plans, such as keto, but nothing helped me sadly. This is because whenever I would start any diet or nutritional plan, I used to feel weak as if there is no strength in my body to do my regular activities. Even some diet plans had made me so vulnerable that I used to spend hours getting up from the bed. Because of these reasons, I had always pushed the idea of losing weight away and continued eating my regular food.
I made these efforts until my mid-50s, but by that time, I understood that I needed something which could help me lose weight and give my body all the essential nutrients to become healthy and strong. I made my own plan of 7 days weight loss challenge with the help of smoothies. This plan included recipes of smoothies that are full of nutrients and some food items to eat for the rest of the day. With the help of this plan, I reduced 3 pounds in my 1st challenge. After a 10-day break, I continued the plan and cut down weight faster; it was around 5 pounds. The weight loss depends on the person.
As my body takes time to let go of fats, I lose weight slowly, and I follow this plan two times a month and until three months because my weight was in the 80s. It took me some time, but I became healthy and smart again. Most importantly, now, I feel stronger and do my work actively.
